Welcome to my blog, the purpose of which is to discuss the world and what is going on in it, mostly from a Christian perspective. I will try to bring common sense to the discussion, and a cool head, but I sometimes go off on a rant. I will try to restrain myself.
The blog is also here to shamelessly promote my book, God and Other Things: Conversations that Defend Faith, Question Evolution, and Search for Truth. This book is ideal for college students who are subjected to anti-religion professors, or seekers of any age who want easy-to-read apologetics.

Why another book on faith and God? Because believers are surrounded by a culture that tells them that God is irrelevant. On college campuses and in the media, people of faith are seen as naïve, or delusional, or just plain stupid.
GOD AND OTHER THINGS can help Christians when they struggle with questions like:
- Is God even necessary today?
- Isn’t the only truth that there is no absolute truth?
- Didn’t Darwin kill God with science?
- Was Jesus really God, or just a great teacher?
- Isn’t the New Testament full of contradictions?
- Aren’t Christians arrogant about their God?
- Why does a loving God allow human suffering?
- How can God send good people to Hell?
These are tough questions. They can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are answers to these questions. The problem is that they are too often hidden in books that collect dust on the shelf because they are seen as too preachy or tedious to read.
GOD AND OTHER THINGS. Conversations That Defend Faith, Question Evolution, and Search for Truth is not that kind of book. It is not a typical book on theology or apologetics. It reveals the basics of Christianity and answers hard questions without weighing down the narrative with chapter and verse. There is not a footnote to be found.
GOD AND OTHER THINGS has a fast paced, conversational style that gets to the point quickly. It entertains. It keeps your attention by allowing you to eavesdrop on a conversation between two friends as they disagree about obstacles to faith. It is more of a coffee shop conversation than a textbook, and anyone with a curious mind will benefit from it. It shows that you don’t have to be stupid or naïve to believe.
A Personal Note From the Author.
I am a searcher for truth too, just as you are. I have dabbled in New Age mysticism, philosophy, and general spiritual enlightenment. This effort left me mostly confused rather than enlightened.
Then I began to research theology, apologetics, and atheism. I gradually came to realize that the Christian narrative made the most sense and had the most to offer. I distilled much of what I learned in GOD AND OTHER THINGS. Conversations That Defend Faith, Question Evolution, and Search for Truth.
Some of the opinions in the book are controversial. Some may offend Christians, but I will take that chance, because it seems to me that offence and truth often go hand in hand.
